Pray that our resources will impact India

The following note came to our office from a listener named Benjamin. He wrote to say:

This summer I have been presented with the opportunity to go on a short-term mission trip to India. This will be my first time traveling overseas, and I’m very excited to go. I’ve been praying for the people that I meet in India, for cooperation in my team, and that God would use us to best witness the Gospel. Thank you!

Join us today in praying for the people of India and the missionaries located there. Here at Wisdom International, we provide Bible teaching content in Hindi and Telugu- the main languages of India. Pray that God will use our resources to bring the people of India to Himself. Pray also that God will stir the hearts of His laborers, like Benjamin, to share the good news of Jesus to an unbelieving world. 

Matthew 9:37b-38 ESV, “‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’”

India, located in South Asia, is known for its diverse cultures, rich history, and significant contributions to philosophy, arts, and sciences. It is the second most populous country in the world, with over 1.3 billion people. India is predominantly Hindu, with significant populations of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, and others.
Here is a prayer guide on how Christians can pray for India:

1. Religious Freedom and Tolerance: Pray for freedom of religion and mutual respect among diverse religious groups. Ask God to create an atmosphere of tolerance where Christians can worship freely and without fear of persecution or discrimination.
2. Health and Well-being: Pray for the health and well-being of India's vast population. Pray for the provision of medical resources, effective healthcare policies, and strength for healthcare workers on the frontlines.
3. Poverty Alleviation and Economic Stability: Pray for economic growth and development that benefits all of India's population. Pray for effective strategies to alleviate poverty and improve access to education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods, particularly for the most marginalized communities.
4. Government and Leaders: Pray for India's government and leaders, that they would govern with wisdom, integrity, and a heart for justice. Pray for transparency, accountability, and the promotion of human rights and democratic values.
5. Growth of the Church: Pray for the growth of the Church in India, for spiritual revival, and for discipleship of new believers. Pray for the protection and courage of Christians facing persecution, and for unity and effective witness among different Christian denominations and movements.
