Sabbath Psalm The Seed (from my upcoming album, ‘Kingdom Rising’)
Fire and stone compose an altar
Piercing winds a knife
A Seed is sown in blood and water
Laying down its life
Thirsty earth consumes the offering
Thorns compose a crown
But darkness can’t explain the offspring
Rising up from this hallowed ground
Deep beneath the eyes of vultures
Death and life converge
Providence conceals the Sculpture
But soon enough it will emerge
Tremors in the earth start sounding
Light is breaking through
Resurrection’s voice resounding
“Love has torn the veil in two!”
All rise!
All rise!
The stand is greater than the fall
All rise!
All rise!
This is Heaven’s altar call
All rise!
All rise!
Death was just a second birth
Look what Love has done—what it’s overcome—how its branches fill the earth!
All rise!
Some reject the Love that binds them
Others curse the Creed
But I have come to trust The Sower
I can see He’s always been the Seed
