O where are kings and kingdoms now
Of old that went and came?
But we, the Church, are praying still
Two thousand years the same.
We feed on Heaven’s sustenance:
On truth—like bread and wine;
We sing that pure, enduring song
Of gospel love divine.
Unshaken as eternal hills,
Immovable we stand;
A holy flock to rule the earth,
Held by The Shepherd’s hand.
