God's Sovereign Election

Have you ever wrestled with the concept of God's sovereignty, especially when it comes to the idea of election? If so, you're not alone. This topic has been a source of much debate and contemplation throughout church history.

As I taught through Romans 9 on The Wisdom Journey, I presented three lessons that explored God's sovereignty through the lens of Paul's teaching. I want to help you explore this sometimes challenging doctrine, drawing insights from Paul on Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Esau, and even Pharaoh.

I understand what you have said, but am far from, as I should be, from knowing the mind of God completely. Seems there is an intermingling of not easily understood and misunderstood sovereignty of God and man's free will. I understand God's use of our free will as our coming to faith in Jesus by an act of our will and not as by being a robot. I have heard preachers say that God ordains people to heaven and some people to hell...a reformed Baptist church...so harsh and unloving and defunct of grace.

I believe that the unregenerate person does not have a free will and also a regenerated person does not have a free will. The person that is not saved is a slave to sin and a person that is saved is a slave to righteousness. According to Romans 6:16-18. The word servant in the Greek means slave. The only people who had a free will was Adam and Eve before they sin in the Garden of Eden.

I now understand that not being able to mentally absorb everything about election is part of my trust in Him. Thank you for sharing these 3 videos. I appreciate you bringing out the references in Both Old and New Testaments which makes everything fit together. I believe that everything happens for a reason and believe GOD gives us the opportunity to decide if we want to believe and trust HIM or not. Life while it has ‘ ups and downs’ is much better when we believe and trust GOD than if one chooses to not believe.
